Slant Six Games Announces Brand New RE:ORC Spec Ops DLC Pack

Earlier today, Vancouver-based developer Slant Six Games announced the launch of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Spec Ops DLC Expansion Pack 2; featuring three new Echo Six campaign missions *Missions 5 -7* as well as three new multiplayer maps.

Echo Six Expansion Pack 2 lets players continue their Echo Six campaign again featuring the rough and tumble special forces soldiers: Party Girl Tweed, Harley, Willow, Shona, and my personal favourite, Dee-ay.

According to Slant Six, the brand new missions are going to be intense and will culminate with Echo Six’s harrowing escape from the devastated Raccoon City.

“The culmination of the Spec Ops mission is to find the truth behind the Raccoon City outbreak. The elite Spec Ops are closing in on Umbrella and the Umbrella Security Service squad, but new threats and challenges cause them to side track as they help other survivors including Claire Redfield and Sherry Birkin. As well as the ever present danger posed by the USS, zombies, Tyrants and Super Parasite Tyrants threaten to overwhelm you as Raccoon City descends into Hell.”

If you’ve been following our pre-and-post release coverage of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of the Spec Ops DLC packs. Slant Six ramped up the monsters, the mayhem, and the “Three Corner Conflict” action that’s unique to RE:ORC.

Not only that, as much as I liked USS Wolfpack, I found Echo Six to be more challenging (I love how much more difficult the game is now), and that the DLC packs were a lot of bang for my buck. As well, Peter Doidge-Harrison, Lead Producer from Slant Six Games said that they have saved the best for last. That means, bigger set pieces, bigger boss battles, brutal firefights with the USS Wolfpack (hopefully) and the much-anticipated escape from Raccoon City level.

Both Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Echo Six DLC Packs are priced at $9.99 on the PlayStation Network and 800 MSP on Xbox Live.

Expect a separate reviews of RE:ORC and the entire Echo Six DLC packs on JTM soon. In the meantime, check out the full press release here.
