Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Demo Coming Soon

Konami recently announced that Platinum Games and Kojima Production’s Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance demo is coming soon to the PS3 and Xbox 360. The fully-packed demo will feature the first chapter of the game and will allow players to try out Metal Gear Rising’s stylish hack-and-slash gameplay, including the incredibly brutal “Blade Mode.” Blade Mode allows Raiden to slow down time, giving him the combat advantage as he slices and dices his enemies to small bloody pieces.

Just like Platinum Games’ previous efforts with BayonettaMetal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a third-person action game that features cinematic, stylistic action with a bit of stealth gameplay added to the mix. Like most action games, Raiden performs standard and heavy attacks using the ‘X’ and ‘Y’ buttons. Raiden can also block, and roll away from enemy attacks for defense.

It does feature a more dynamic camera system that sticks allows for full control of the view of the action. Though most of the time, the camera sticks pretty close to Raiden (his back actually) so its easier to see the damage his blade does to the enemy units, environments, and in-game items.

The Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Demo will be available via download on PSN and Xbox LIVE on January 22. The full game will be available for purchase on February 19, 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360 at major retail stores nationwide.

Will you be picking up Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance? What do you think of Raiden being the main character?
