Capcom Finally Confirms Resident Evil Revelations For PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U

Earlier today, Capcom finally confirmed that Resident Evil Revelations is indeed coming to PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. Once a Nintendo 3DS-exclusive title, RE Revelations will be available through retail and through digital download.

Taking place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil Revelations casts players as either Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield (along with each of their partners) as they try to solve solve the mystery within the abandoned Crusie Ship Queen Zeonbia. Resident Evil Revelations achieved critical acclaim for its return to the roots of the franchise; namely a focus on building tension and horror throughout the adventure.

Coming with HD visuals, enhanced lighting effects, and improved audio, the technical presentation will definitely be beefed up for the game’s console release. As well, Capcom has said that they will be adding new features including new enemy types, a new difficulty, and much needed improvements to the ever-popular Raid Mode. Oh and did I mention that you get to play as Resident Evil 2’s agent HUNK as well as other known characters from the Resident Evil series.

A unique feature for Resident Evil Revelations, Raid Mode has players going solo or with other players online in a mission-based, horde-mode type game mode. Players will take on ever increasing hordes of BOW’s and monsters, level up their characters, and earn new upgrades for their weapons.

Like Resident Evil 6, Revelations will also make use of the website, keeping track of scores, progress, and such. Also, players who pre-register to the service starting Thursday, January 24th, will get RE Revelations content as a free gift.

Resident Evil Revelations is coming to the PS3, Xbox  360, and Wii U (retail) on May 21, 2012. The game will also be coming to PS3 and PC as a digital download on launch day for $49.99. The Xbox 360 and Wii U downloadable versions will be coming on a later date.
