Square-Enix recently confirmed that THIEF is officially coming to PC and next gen consoles. Developed by Canadian studio Eidos Montréal, THIEF once again casts master thief Garrett in a first-person adventure that is set to reboot and re-invent the franchise on the PS4, the next Xbox, and high end PC’s.

Like the Thief trilogy that came before, THIEF will give you freedom to forge your own legend, choose your own paths within each of the game’s levels, as well as how you go about each mission. More on THIEF after the break.

“We’re handling a precious gemstone with THIEF. Fans remember the original games very fondly and we want to preserve that essence which we have excellent experience of doing at Eidos Montréal, whilst also introducing THIEF to a brand new, next-generation, audience,” said Stephane D’Astous, General Manager, Eidos Montréal. “Our goal is to deliver the fantasy of being Garrett, the master thief, and we’re building this game around that core experience.”

If you’re like me and you’re salivating for more THIEF information and gameplay features, you’ll be happy to know that GameInformer has exclusive coverage and in-depth interviews with Eidos Montréal in their April issue. On the other hand, if you can’t wait for the issue to hit newsstands, check out GameInformer’s THIEF page for coverage on the game.

  1. Yep, that’s the game I’ve been waiting for the most. I remember playing thief 3 a few years back and it was like, mind-blowing, and I’m sure Square Enix is gonna take it to a whole new level this time.

    • You should go back and try Thief and Thief 2 – they’re available on I believe, updated to run on newer computers. The graphics certainly don’t hold up, but the gameplay and story are terrific. I can’t wait for this new one… although I do worry that it will have a challenge differentiating itself from the excellent Dishonoured.

    • Agreed with you there; I loved Thief: Deadly Shadows for the PC and I think I had it for the Xbox at one time as well. Story was quite interesting though I found it a little on the slow side; but when it picked up you were on the edge of your seat until the end.
